As a millennial woman, one of my deeply ingrained adolescent traumas is a certain boyband going on a "temporary hiatus" in 2002. Throughout our teens and 20s, we endured the seemingly endless waiting and held onto hope through the brutal torment of hearing friends and family (read: haters) gleefully proclaiming over and over that they will "NEVER" get back together. Nevertheless, we persisted. We've quietly remained strong in our fandom well into adulthood, and now, the jokes on them. Now, over 20 years later, our dream of a reunion feels just within reach!
